SociaLaser
SociaLaser is an immersive environment that synchronizes laser light mechanics with physical user input through a multi-touch display and laser light projector.
SociaLaser was a senior capstone New Media team project. The SociaLaser team consisted of 3 designers (Jason Caryl, Trevor Crandall, & Nick Tassone), a hardware specialist (Kevin Whitfield), and 2 developers (Anna Steglinski and myself).
The project was aimed at having users interact with a touch screen while a laser projector simultaneously responded to their motions overhead. Several effects were available to the user, allowing them to produce complex animations. SociaLaser was implemented on May 1st, 2010 at Imagine RIT to an audience of hundreds. Check out some of the videos and process work of the project.
