GEICO.com G4 Redesign
The GEICO.com G4 redesign was a major overhaul that brought the site's aesthetics in line with the 4th version of the mobile app. The project was a continuous effort that spanned from mid-2015 through 2016.
Like the 2014 redesign, a new corporate Design Kit was released and integrated into the website. This revision of the Design Kit included a completely redesigned navigation menu, new animations, and additional icons to the existing font library. With a heavy focus on web accessibility standards, the site was greatly enhanced for users who rely on alternative means of interaction (such as the use of screen readers). One of the main improvements in this area was the addition of keyboard navigation across the site.
Alongside these new enhancements was a complete restructuring of the site's information architecture. The main insurance product pages were moved to the top level of the IA in order to boost search engine optimization and help users find what they needed in fewer steps. Some of the other features included front end optimization techniques with the content delivery network and geolocation services implemented throughout the website.
